High School Anti-Bullying Assemblies

PERFORMANCE AND MESSAGE BY CARY TRIVANOVICH
America's Leading Speaker On Bullying For 25 Years

Cary's performance is a comedy/pantomime mix that Los Angeles theatre critics have called "as visually stimulating as it is funny to the bone."  The reaction he receives in high school assemblies must be seen to be believed.  His performance earns so much respect with his audiences that he is able to follow with his straightforward message with pin-drop attention.

Cary's message is given in the second half of the assembly.  It is not designed to educate about bullying, although it does that, but rather to affect hearts about the sensitivity and well-being of others.  Whether about students who are mistreating others in ignorance of how they are acting, or about serious staunch bullies, Cary's message speaks to the heart of every student.

 • Cary relates the painful consequences of physical, social, and online "cyber" bullying.
Cary effectively exposes the narcissistic attitude of bullying, and the desire for some bullies to be somebody, delivering a message to bullies throughout his talk indirectly without addressing his comments at them.
He encourages the bullied, giving them helpful and practical advice.
He explains that the notion of not reporting (often called "snitching") when students witness bullying is adolescent and dangerous, and that they should help victims of bullying by reporting and protecting.
Cary culminates his message with the challenge to be the kind of peer who is a magnet for friends - unselfish and giving.
•• The above aspects are tailored and discussed with varying depth from school to school, depending on the climate and degree of bullying at each.

America's Bullying Speaker - The First, For A While the Only, and Now the Foremost

Cary has been speaking in school assemblies about bullying for three decades - since long before bullying came to the forefront of concern in America's schools.  When Cary added a message to his already established school assembly performance early in his career, his intention was merely to encourage the students who were victims of the "mean kids" at school.  Because of Cary's inspiring message on the subject, as well as his uncanny connection with teens, Cary became known for this unique and much needed message.  Little did he know that one day he would be America's leading school assembly program on Bullying.

Setting Standards in High School Assemblies Across America

"Allow me to take a moment of your time to let you know the impact Cary made at Sonora High School.  Even after a month our students still talked about his performance.  They continued to marvel at what he is capable of doing, and talked of his performance with fondness; fondness for him and what he created within that magical hour.  Cary's finale, Gift of Life, was spectacular and incredibility moving.  I have never witnessed our auditorium so mesmerized by anything."
Steven Southard, Former Director of Activities, Sonora High, Sonora, CA  (Retired in Spring, 2011)

"Your message was spot-on.  It's so hard to find an entertaining speaker whose message has substance.  You brought to our students exactly what we needed for them to hear in a way that they needed to hear it."

Principal, Goodrich High, Goodrich, MI

"Totally awesome!  I have never seen our students so riveted.  They were spellbound."
Cyndi Thatcher, Renaissance & Anti-Bullying Program Advisor, Central Regional High, Bayville, NJ
